Meet Carrie

My name is Carrie Mahoney; I have loved horses for as long as I can remember. I started riding when I was ten. After several years of equitation, I started training with an Olympic level, three day event rider. I also competed in jumper classes.

I have an Equine Studies degree from Johnston & Wales College. After graduating in 1986, I became the assistant manager/trainer at the New Canaan Mounted Troop in New Canaan, Connecticut. Two years later I moved to Mendham, New Jersey where I ran a lesson/training program at Springtree Farm. In 1995, I began my own boarding & training stable with a friend and business partner in Bedminster, New Jersey. Then in 2003 I moved to Hillsborough, New Jersey to be the head trainer and consultant for Maple Run Stables. Now owner of Cherrystone Ridge, I teach dressage and jumping, as well as train horses.

The horse I am riding in this photo is a ten year old thoroughbred gelding "Spaceman Spiff". I bought him as a two year old and trained him as both a hunter/jumper as well as a dressage horse. He is currently jumping 3'6' and schooling at 3rd level dressage.
